BAEFESO 6:7NSO00Bula go Mmadi wa Bibele

I heard a story about a town where the public telephones used to be at the entrance to the pharmacy. The pharmacist, therefore, could not help overhearing some of the people’s conversations.

One day a young man made a call: “Hello, Sir. I’m calling to find out if you need someone for a garden? Oh, you already have someone. Are you happy with him? Thank you, Sir, I just wanted to hear.”

The pharmacist was sympathetic when he said: “I’m sorry you didn’t get the job, young man.”

The young man smiled and said: “No, I have the job. I just wanted to hear how I was doing.”

In Ephesians 6:7, we read: “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.”

We can easily complain or become frustrated in the workplace, when it feels as if things are not going the way we would like them to. The question is: do we work as if we work for God or for people? It is necessary to remind ourselves that he sees everything and that it is God who can bring about a promotion when we least expect it.

Prayer: Father God, thank you that I can know that you see everything I do. Please help me not to be lazy, but to do what I do to the best of my abilities. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
