Called to Care – Day 11

₂₇Then Barnabas came to his help and took him to the apostles. He explained to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and that the Lord had spoken to him. He also told them how boldly Saul had preached in the name of Jesus in Damascus.

₃₆Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit our brothers and sisters in every town where we preached the word of the Lord, and let us find out how they are getting on.” ₃₇Barnabas wanted to take John Mark with them, ₃₈but Paul did not think it was right to take him, because he had not stayed with them to the end of their mission, but had turned back and left them in Pamphylia. ₃₉There was a sharp argument, and they separated: Barnabas took Mark and sailed off for Cyprus, ₄₀while Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the care of the Lord's grace.

₁₂You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. ₁₃Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. ₁₄And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity. ₁₅The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.
