Roadmap for Life – Day 4

- Get your priorities right
- Discipline yourself

Bible text(s)

31“So do not start worrying: ‘Where will my food come from? or my drink? or my clothes?’ 32(These are the things the pagans are always concerned about.) Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things. 33Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things.

Matthew 6:31-33GNBOpen in Bible reader

4Seek your happiness in the LORD,

and he will give you your heart's desire.

Psalms 37:4GNBOpen in Bible reader

God our Father

1As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses round us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us. 2Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right-hand side of God's throne.

Get your priorities right
Decide what you must get done today, write it down if it helps, prioritise and work from the top of that list. If something is not possible for that day, then don’t list it! And if you’re really not comfortable with making lists, at least try and work within a broader framework that gives you some direction.

Discipline yourself
Make a point of disciplining yourself. If you don’t, no one else will – not even God!
