People who are saved must tell it to everyone
1You must thank the Lord because He is good,
and his love will never change.
He will love us forever.
2The people who have been saved
must tell that the Lord has set them free.
They were suffering but He saved them.
3He brought them back
from the lands where they were,
from the east and the west,
from the north and the south.
4Our forefathers got lost in the desert,
and they could not find a city to live in.
5They were hungry and thirsty
and they almost fainted.
6Then they prayed to the Lord
and asked Him to help them and
He saved them from all their trouble.
7He led them on a way with no problems
to a city where they could live.
8We must thank the Lord because
his love for us will never change
and we must thank Him for the miracles that
He has done for us, his people.
9He gives a lot of water to people
who are thirsty and He gives a lot of food
to people who are hungry.
10Some of our people were in dark places,
and they were prisoners who suffered
because their enemies had tied them with chains.
11This happened because they
had rebelled_against God,
and they didn't want to do
what the Most High God told them.
12That is why the Lord humiliated
them and made them work as slaves.
They fell down and
there was no one to help them.
13And after they had suffered a lot,
they prayed to the Lord
and asked Him for help.
And He saved them from their trouble.
14He brought them out of the
dark places and broke their chains.
15They must thank the Lord
because his love will never change,
and they must thank Him for all the miracles
that He has done for his people,
16because He has broken the
gates of brass and opened the iron locks.
17Some people were foolish and
they suffered because they were rebellious
and did what was wrong.
18They could not eat any food and
became so weak that they almost died.
19When they suffered a lot,
they prayed to the Lord and
asked Him to help them.
And the Lord saved them from their trouble.
20He said the word that healed them,
and He saved them before they died
and went to their graves.
21They must thank the Lord
because his love never changes
and because of the wonderful things
that He has done for his people.
22Let them sacrifice thank-offerings to Him,
and let them sing and tell about
all the things that He did.
23Some people sailed
with boats on the sea,
and they sold things to the people
on the other side of the sea.
24They saw what the Lord can do,
and they saw the miracles
that He does in the deep water.
25When the Lord talked,
storm winds came over the sea
and the waves became very big.
26The boats went high up on the waves
and then they came down into the deep water.
The storm was so bad that
they became afraid and lost all courage.
27They stumbled and fell
like people who were drunk.
They were good seamen,
but they did not know what to do.
28When they feared
and didn't know what to do,
they prayed to the Lord
and asked Him to help them.
And the Lord saved them from their trouble.
29He calmed the storm
and the waves of the sea became small.
30The people were very happy
because the storm was over
and the Lord helped them to go
to the harbour where they wanted to go.
31They must thank the Lord
because his love for them will never change
and because He has done miracles for his people.
32They must praise Him
in the congregation and tell about the great things
that He has done in the meeting of the leaders.
33He has changed rivers of water
into a desert and fountains into dry land.
34He has changed fertile ground
into land where nothing grew
because of the sins and bad things
that the people did.
35He has changed deserts
into dams and lakes, and He has changed
dry ground into fountains of water.
36He made hungry people live there
and helped them to build a city
where they could live.
37They sowed wheat and planted vines
and got lots of wheat and grapes.
38The Lord blessed them and
they had many children and
the numbers of their animals became more and more.
39When they were defeated and oppressed,
there were not as many of them and they suffered.
40The Lord showed that He was
not pleased with their leaders.
He humiliated them and made them
get lost in a desert where they
could not find their way back.
41But He helped the poor and weak people
who had suffered and He made
their families as big as flocks of sheep.
42Good and honest people
see this and it makes them happy,
but sinful people can say nothing,
and they have to keep quiet.
43People who are wise
must think about these things.
They must always think about
the love of God that will never change.
