It is good to sing to our God
1Praise the Lord.
It is good to sing to our God.
Yes, it feels good to sing a song
that we should sing, to praise Him.
2The Lord builds Jerusalem again,
and He brings back all the people
who were prisoners in other lands.
3He heals people who are sad
and discouraged, and He binds
their wounds and makes them better.
4He decided how many stars
there must be and
He gave each star a name.
5Our Lord is great and very strong.
He knows everything,
and his wisdom has no end.
6It is the Lord who defends people
who can not help themselves,
but He makes sinful people fall to the ground.
7Sing a song to the Lord and thank Him.
Make music for Him and play the lyre.
8He is the One who makes the sky
full of clouds and He gives rain
to the earth and makes
grass grow on the mountains.
9He is the One who gives food
to all the animals and
to the young birds and ravens
that cry because they are hungry.
10To Him it is not important
if you have strong horses
or men who can run fast.
That is not important to the Lord,
11but the Lord cares about
people who serve and love Him,
people who believe in Him
and believe that his love for us will never end.
12People of Jerusalem,
you must praise the Lord.
People of Zion,
praise your God.
13Because He makes the gates
of the city strong,
and He blesses everyone in the city.
14He brings peace with other nations
and gives you the best food and grain.
15He tells the earth what it must do,
and the message that He sends goes quickly.
16He is the One who gives
the snow which is white like wool.
He makes the frost fall
on the ground like ashes.
17He is the One who makes
hail-stones fall down like crumbs.
No one can stop the cold that He sends.
18When He speaks, the snow
and hail-stones melt away,
and when He sends the winds to blow,
the water flows.
19The Lord gave his Word to Jacob.
He gave his laws and rules to the Israelites.
20He didn't do that for any other nation,
and they do not know his laws.
Praise the Lord.
