*Psalms 26

₁Lord, when You judge me,

please say that I have done nothing wrong,

because I have been honest

and I have always trusted You

and have never stopped believing in You.

₂Test me, O Lord.

Look deep into my heart and see

what I am thinking and feeling

₃because I always think of your love

and I am faithful to You.

₄I don't sit down with people

who are false and I don't

make friends with hypocritical people,

who try to hide their sins.

₅I hate to be with bad people

and I will not sit down and talk

to people who do wrong.

₆Lord, I wash my hands to show

that I am innocent. I go to your altar.

₇I sing and thank You,

and I talk about all the wonderful things

that You have done.

₈Lord, I love your temple,

where we see your glory.

₉Please do not sweep me away

when You punish sinners,

and don't let me die with murderers.

₁₀They are always

waiting to do bad things,

and they love taking bribe money.

₁₁But I won't do that.

I will always be honest.

Please save me and have mercy on me.

₁₂I am safe now,

and I will praise the Lord

where all the people are together.
