Please let me always be innocent
This is a Psalm of David.
1Lord, when You judge me,
please say that I have done nothing wrong,
because I have been honest
and I have always trusted You
and have never stopped believing in You.
2Test me, O Lord.
Look deep into my heart and see
what I am thinking and feeling
3because I always think of your love
and I am faithful to You.
4I don't sit down with people
who are false and I don't
make friends with hypocritical people,
who try to hide their sins.
5I hate to be with bad people
and I will not sit down and talk
to people who do wrong.
6Lord, I wash my hands to show
that I am innocent. I go to your altar.
7I sing and thank You,
and I talk about all the wonderful things
that You have done.
8Lord, I love your temple,
where we see your glory.
9Please do not sweep me away
when You punish sinners,
and don't let me die with murderers.
10They are always
waiting to do bad things,
and they love taking bribe money.
11But I won't do that.
I will always be honest.
Please save me and have mercy on me.
12I am safe now,
and I will praise the Lord
where all the people are together.
