The Issachar tribe
1Issachar had 4 sons. They were Tola, Puah, Jashub and Shimron.
2The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam and Samuel. They were the leaders of the Tola families and they were important men. In the time when David was king, there were 22 600 descendants of Tola.
3Uzzi had a son. His name was Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah were Michael, Obadiah, Joel and Ishiah. There were 5 sons who were leaders of families. 4All the men in these families had many wives and children. Later there were 36 000 soldiers who were descendants of Uzzi.
5The other descendants of Issachar were also important men. There were 87 000 men and their names are written in the list of names of the Issachar tribe.
The Benjamin tribe
6Benjamin had 3 sons. They were Bela, Beker and Jediael. 7Bela had 5 sons. They were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth and Iri. They were leaders of families and they were important men. There were 22 034 men in these families and their names are written in the list of names of the Benjamin tribe.
8The sons of Beker were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth and Alemeth. They were the sons of Beker. 9There were 20 200 men in their family and their names are written in the list of names of the families. They were leaders of families and they were important men.
10Jediael had one son. His name was Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish and Ahishahar. 11This was the family of Jediael. All of his sons were leaders of families and they were important men and they had 17 200 men who could go to war.
12The people of the towns of Shuppim and Huppim were descendants of Ir. The people of the town of Hushim were descendants of Aher. 13The sons of Naphtali were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer and Shillem. They were descendants of Bilhah.
The Manasseh tribe
14Manasseh and his concubine from Aram were the parents of Asriel and Makir. Makir was the forefather of the people in the land of Gilead. 15Makir married wives from the people of Huppim and Shuppim. He had a sister. Her name was Maakah. His 2nd son was Zelophehad. He had only daughters and no sons.
16Makir and his wife Maakah had a son. His name was Peresh and his brother's name was Sheresh. Sheresh had 2 sons. They were Ulam and Rakem. 17Ulam had a son. His name was Bedan. Manasseh's son, Makir, was the forefather of the people of Gilead.
18Makir had a sister. Her name was Hammoleketh and she was the mother of Ishhod, Abiezer and Mahlah. 19The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi and Aniam.
The Ephraim tribe
20Ephraim was the father of Shuthelah, Shuthelah was the father of Bered, Bered was the father of Tahath, Tahath was the father of Eleadah, Eleadah was the father of Tahath, 21Tahath was the father of Zabad and Zabad was the father of Shuthelah. Ephraim also had 2 other sons, Ezer and Elead.
But the people who were born in the land of Gath killed his 2 sons because they wanted to steal the sheep and goats from the people of Gath. 22Their father, Ephraim, cried and mourned for them for a long time and his brothers came to comfort him. 23Then Ephraim and his wife had another son and he named this son Beriah because he was sad about what had happened to his family. 24Ephraim had a daughter. Her name was Sheerah. She built the towns of Upper-Beth-Horon, Lower-Beth-Horon and Uzzen-Sheerah.
25Ephraim's other sons were Rephah and Resheph. Resheph was the father of Telah, Telah was the father of Tahan, 26Tahan was the father of Ladan, Ladan was the father of Ammihud, Ammihud was the father of Elishama, 27Elishama was the father of Nun and Nun was the father of Joshua.
28They lived in the town of Bethel and its villages, in the town of Naaran to the east, the town of Gezer and its villages to the west, and the town of Shechem and its villages to the town of Ayyah and its villages.
The Manasseh tribe
29The people of Manasseh lived in the towns of Beth-Shan, Taanach, Megiddo and Dor and in their villages. This is where the descendants of Joseph, son of Israel, lived.
The Asher tribe
30The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi and Beriah. Their sister was Serah. 31The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malkiel. Malkiel was the father of Birzaith. 32Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer and Hotham and their sister was Shua. 33The sons of Japhlet were Pasak, Bimhal and Ashvath. They were the sons of Japhlet.
34The sons of Shomer were Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah and Aram. 35The sons of Shomer's brother, Helem, were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh and Amal. 36The sons of Zophah were Shuah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran and Beera. 38The sons of Jether were Jephunneh, Pispah and Ara. 39The sons of Ulla were Arah, Hanniel and Rizia.
40All these people were descendants of Asher. They were the best men, leaders of families, important men and leaders. Their names are written in the name list of the Asher tribe. There were 26 000 men who could go to war.
