Call someone to help
1Eliphaz said:
‘Job, you can shout if you want to,
but no one will answer you.
None of the messengers_from_heaven
want to listen to you.
2A fool dies because
he becomes angry,
and a stupid man dies because he is jealous.
3I have seen a fool who started to succeed,
but then his house
and his family had problems.
4A fool's children will never be safe.
There is no one to help them
when they have to go to court.
5People who are hungry or thirsty
will eat all the wheat of a fool,
even the wheat that grows among thorns.
6It is not the ground or the earth
that makes people suffer.
7No, people are born to suffer,
and their lives are over quickly
like a flame of fire
that goes up and disappears.
8But as for me, I would pray to God
when things were not going well with me.
I would ask Him to help me.
9He does great things
that we do not understand.
He does miracles, more than we can count.
10He gives the earth rain,
and He makes the fields wet.
11He makes humble people important.
He helps people who are mourning
and comforts them.
12God makes the plans
of bad people go wrong,
so the things that they want to do
will not succeed.
13He catches clever people
with their own cunning plans.
He stops the plans of people
who want to cheat.
14When it's day it becomes dark for them.
At noon they do not know where to go,
and they have to feel where they are going.
15But God saves people who have nothing.
He saves them from people
who accuse and oppress them.
He saves them from people
who are stronger than they are.
16That is why poor people can have hope again
and people who are unfair
can not say anything against them.
17You should be happy
when God teaches you.
When the Almighty shows you
how to live, you must listen.
18Because when God hurts people,
He heals their wounds again.
He beats them, but his hand
heals their wounds again.
19He will save you from 6 problems,
and even 7 dangers will not hurt you.
20When there is no food,
He will save you so that you
do not die. When there is war,
He will protect you
and your enemies will not kill you.
21He will protect you when people
say bad things about you,
and you will not become afraid when bad things happen.
22When bad things happen
and there is famine, you will laugh,
and you will not be afraid of wild animals.
23The stones in the field will not hurt you,
and the wild animals will not attack you.
24You will know that you
are safe in your tent,
and when you go into the field
to count your sheep,
you will see that all of them are there.
25You will know that you will
have many children.
You will have many descendants,
like the grass in the field.
26You will die and go to
your grave after a happy life.
You will be harvested at the right time
like a head_of_wheat.
27This is what we have found to be true.
You must listen and you must know this.’
