I am weak. Please don't leave me
1Lord, I know You will protect me.
Please don't let me be humiliated.
2You always do what is right.
Please save me.
Please do what I ask You and set me free.
3Please be my Rock,
a place where I can hide and be safe.
Please say the word so that I will be saved,
because You are my Rock,
my safe place in the mountains.
4My God, please take me away
from the people who do wrong,
people who are bad and cruel.
5Yes, my Lord,
I know that You will help me.
I have believed in You
from the time I was young.
6From the day I was born,
I trusted in You and knew
that You would help me.
You were with me from the day
that I came out of my mother's womb.
I want to praise You forever.
7There are a lot of people
who look at me and see me as an example.
They see that You are protecting me.
8I can not stop praising You.
All day I talk about You, my King.
9Do not leave me when I get old,
and don't throw me away
when I become weak.
10Because my enemies
are talking about me.
The people who want me to die
are making plans against me.
11They say: ‘God has left him alone.
Catch and grab him
because there is no one
who will save him.’
12O God, please don't go away
or be far from me. My God,
please hurry, and come and help me.
13I pray that these people
who accuse me
will be destroyed and ashamed.
Let other people mock and humiliate them,
because they want me to suffer.
14But I will always trust in You,
and I will praise You more and more.
15I want to tell other people how You
always do what is right
and how You have saved me,
but it is more than I can tell.
16My Lord, I will tell
of the great things that You have done.
I will tell them that You are
the only One who is really righteous.
17O God, from the time that I was young
You have shown me
that You do miracles,
and I still talk about them.
18I am old and my hair is grey,
but please don't leave me now.
I want to tell my descendants,
and everyone who will be born later,
how strong You are and
the great things that You have done.
19O God, You do what is right
to everyone on earth and in heaven.
O God, there is no one like You,
You who have done great things.
20You have given me lots
of trouble and bad times.
Will You please give me new life again?
Please bring me back
from deep down under the earth.
21Please comfort me and
make me great again.
22I will praise You with my harp
because You are always faithful, my God.
I will sing and praise You with my lyre
because You are the holy God of Israel.
23I will rejoice and shout
because I am happy.
You have saved me and
I will sing to You.
24All day long I will talk about
You who were fair to me,
because You have destroyed
and ashamed the people
who want to hurt me.
