The Lord protects people who can not help themselves
Tell the leader of the choir to play the same music as the song: ‘The death of the son.’ This is a Psalm of David.
1Lord, I will thank You with all my heart,
and I will tell about all the wonderful things
that You have done.
2Most High God,
I will rejoice and be glad
because I know You,
and I will sing to honour your name.
3When my enemies see You
in front of them,
they want to turn_around and flee,
but they fall down and die.
4You were fair when You
sat on your throne to judge me
and said that I was innocent.
5You rebuked the nations,
and You destroyed the people
who had done wrong.
No one will remember their names.
6Your enemies are gone.
You have destroyed their towns,
and there are only heaps of stones left over.
No one will remember
that there were towns like that.
7The Lord rules forever,
and He sits on his throne to judge everyone.
8He will be fair when He
judges all the people of the world.
He will do what is right to all the nations.
9The Lord protects people
who can not help themselves.
He protects people
who have a lot of trouble.
10The people who know You, O Lord,
trust in You because they know
that You will never forget or leave them.
11Sing and praise the Lord,
He who sits on his throne on Mount_Zion.
Tell all the nations what God has done,
12because He remembers
the innocent people who were killed.
He will punish the people who have murdered them.
He will not forget the people who
pray to Him and
ask Him to protect them.
13Lord, have mercy on me and help me.
See how my enemies make me suffer.
Do not cause me to die and go
through the gates of death.
14I will praise You
in the gate of Zion and tell
about the wonderful things
that You have done.
I will rejoice because You have saved me.
15The nations have fallen into the hole
that they have made for other people.
Their feet were caught in the trap
that they made for others.
16The Lord has shown everyone
who He is.
He judges them fairly and He punishes
those who do things that are wrong. Higgajon Selah
17The people who do wrong,
everyone who forgets
that there is a God, will go to the underworld.
18The Lord will never forget the poor people.
The people who can not help themselves
can always have hope that God will help them.
19Stand up, Lord.
Do not let sinful people win.
Make all nations stand
in front of You and judge them.
20Lord, let the nations fear.
All people must realise
that they will die. Selah
