MATHEU 22

37A re ho yena: “ ‘Rata Morena Modimo wa hao ka pelo ya hao yohle, le ka moya wa hao wohle, le ka maikutlo a hao wohle.’

MATHEU 22:37SSO89SOBula ka mmadi wa Bibele

When we have to make choices, it will, at least, be useful if God could tell us clearly what to do and what not to do. Something like a letter or a voice from heaven would help a lot. At least, we would know what we should do and where we stand.

It is difficult to make good choices. What career should I choose? Is this the right man or woman for me to marry? The priest, the Levite and the Samaritan each faced the choice of helping the half-dead man along the road. Only one man decided to help the poor man. After God healed Naaman, he offered money to Elisha. Elisha had to decide whether he wanted to take the money or not. He did not. Potiphar’s wife invited Joseph for a night of pleasure and he had to make a choice. He said no.

Every day we face new choices. What is a good choice to make? The answer is: It is a choice that is based on God’s rules for us.

In the first place, there is a choice that precedes all other choices. It is the choice for or against Jesus, because with it all other choices stand or fall. You will never want to live according to the rules of God, if you have never made a choice for God. You should, therefore, first of all decide whether you want to live for God or not. Decide whether you want to follow Jesus or not. Why would you want to follow Jesus if you do not know him?

When you choose to follow Jesus, the other life choices will be easier.
