1After the Sabbath day, Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James and Salome, went to buy perfume and oil. They wanted to put it over Jesus' body. 2Very early on that Sunday morning, just after the sun came up, they went to the tomb. 3They asked each other: ‘Who will roll away the stone in front of the tomb?’
4The stone was very big, but when they came there, they saw that someone had rolled the stone away. 5They went inside the tomb and they saw a young man sitting on the right hand side. He had a long white robe. The women were afraid. 6The man said to them: ‘Do not be afraid. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified. He is risen and He lives again. He is not here. Look, here is where they put his body. 7Go and tell his disciples and tell Peter: “Jesus is going to Galilee. He is going before you. You must also go. You will see Him there as He told you.” ’
8The women ran away from the tomb. They were trembling because they were afraid. They were too afraid to tell anyone what had happened.
9[Jesus rose from the dead and started to live again early on Sunday morning. He first appeared to Mary Magdalene. She was the woman who had had 7 demons in her before Jesus chased_out_the_demons. 10She went to the disciples who followed Jesus and she told them that Jesus had appeared to her. They were crying and mourning. 11When Mary told them that Jesus was alive and that she had seen Him, they did not believe her.
12After that, Jesus appeared to 2 of his disciples outside the city. But Jesus did not look the same as before. 13The 2 disciples went back to the city and they told the other disciples but the other disciples did not believe them.
14Later Jesus appeared to the 11 disciples when they were eating. He rebuked them because they did not believe in Him. They were stubborn, and that is why they did not believe the people who said they had seen Him after He had risen and started to live again. 15Jesus said to them: ‘You must go to everyone in the world and bring the Good_News to them. 16If a person believes and is baptised, then God will save him, but if someone does not believe, then God will punish him. 17People who believe in Jesus will have power to do miracles. They will chase_out_demons when they use my name and they will speak new languages. 18They will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink something poisonous, they will not become sick or die. They will put their hands on sick people and the sick will be healed.’
19After the Lord Jesus had said these things to his disciples, God took Jesus to heaven and Jesus sits next to God in the most important place. 20The disciples went and they preached everywhere and the Lord worked with them. He did miracles and powerful things to show that their message was true.]
