The kings of the earth must honour God
Tell the leader of the choir to play this song with musical_instruments that have strings. This song is a Psalm of Asaph.
1The people of Judah know God,
and the Israelites worship Him.
2Jerusalem is the place where God stays,
and Zion is where his home is.
3That is where He defeated his enemies
and broke their burning arrows,
their shields and swords. Selah
4O God, your glory is wonderful,
more than a mountain
full of wild animals.
5You took everything from
the brave men of the enemies.
They died and could not
lift their hands to fight.
6When the God_of_Jacob spoke,
all the soldiers and horses fell down to the ground.
7O God, everyone is afraid of You.
When You become angry,
no one can stand before You.
8You judged from heaven
and all the people on earth
became afraid and kept quiet.
9This was when God got up
and started judging everyone on earth,
to save all the humble people. Selah
10People praise You because
You become angry when You see
the bad things that sinners do
and You punish them.
The people who are saved
will come and worship You.
11People, when you promise
the Lord your God
to do something for Him,
you must do it.
All his people must bring
offerings and gifts to Him.
You must fear and honour Him.
12He humiliates leaders
who are proud.
All the kings of the earth
must fear Him.
