Ezekiel 2
God sends Ezekiel
1The Lord said to me: ‘Son of man, get up. I want to talk to you.’
2While He was talking to me, the Spirit came into me and made me stand upright. Then the Lord talked to me 3and He said: ‘Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites. They are rebellious people who do not want to listen to Me. Their forefathers did not obey Me and they are still doing the same, until this day. 4They are stubborn people and they don't want to listen to Me. I am sending you to them and you must tell them what I, the Lord, say. 5And they must know that there is a prophet among them. They must know it, if they listen to you or if they don't listen to you, because they are rebellious people.
6But you, Son of man, you must not be afraid of them. Don't be afraid of what they say, even if they are stubborn and you feel like you are sitting on thorns and scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say and don't fear them because they are rebellious people. 7They are stubborn, but you must tell them what I say, if they listen to you or if they don't listen to you. 8And you, Son of man, you must listen to what I tell you. Do not be rebellious like these rebellious people. Open your mouth and eat what I give you.’
9And when I looked, I saw He had put out his hand towards me and I saw a scroll in his hand. 10He opened the scroll in front of me and I saw there was something written on the scroll, on the front and on the back. These were like the words of people who were crying, mourning and complaining, like people who were suffering.
