Umhobe kaDavide; kumbhexeshi-kwayara.

₁Amazulu abalisa ngobungangamsha bukaThixo,

nesibhakabhaka sixela umsebenzi wezandla zakhe.

₂Imini ixelela imin' elandelayo,

nobusuku bubikela ubusuk' obulandelayo.

₃Akukho ntetho namazwi nasandi sivakalayo;

₄kodwa kukho intlokoma kulo lonk' elimiweyo,

nebali lazo liwugqibe wonk' umhlaba.

UThixo ulakhele esibhakabhakeni ilanga.

We begin the year declaring the truth that God created the heavens and earth and proclaiming that the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.
