Forgiveness – Day 2

Moses spent a long time with the Lord on Mount Sinai. The people went to Aaron to make them a god, resulting in the golden calf. When Moses came down from the mountain, he became angry and broke the 2 flat stones (32:19).

Ukuhlaziywa komnqophiso

1*UNdikhoyo wayalela uMosis wathi: “Qingqa amanye amacwecwe amatye amabini afana nalawa okuqala, ukuze mna ndiwabhale kuwo amazwi awayebhalwe kulawa wawaphulayo. 2Ngomso kusasa uze unyuke intaba iSinayi, apho uya kundibona nam khona. 3Makungabikho mntu uhamba nawe okanye usondelayo nakuliphi na icala lentaba; nditsho kwaiigusha neenkomo mazingasondeli entabeni.” 4UMosis ke wawaqingqa amacwecwe amabini amatye, waza ngengomso kusasa wenyuka nawo entabeni iSinayi ngokokutsho kukaNdikhoyo, ewaphethe ngezandla.

5Ke kaloku uNdikhoyo wehla ngelifu, waza wema noMosis apho entabeni, walikhankanya igama lakhe – uNdikhoyo. 6Waza ke wadlula phambi kwakhe, wandula wathi: “UNdikhoyo nguThixo onemfesane nesisa, oza kade umsindo, ophuphuma izibele nokunyaniseka. 7Ukunyaniseka kwakhe akujiki nakwizizukulwana ngezizukulwana; abakhohlakeleyo nabanxaxhayo nabonayo uyabaxolela. Kambe ke abanetyala ubohlwaya ade ohlwaye nesizukulwana sabo, aye kufikelela kwesesithathu nakwesesine ngenxa yeziphoso zooyise.”

The merciful God

The Lord instructed Moses to cut out 2 flat stones like those He gave him the first time.  The Lord would write the same words on it.  He had to go up to the mountain and wait upon the Lord.

When the Lord came down in a cloud, He spoke loudly to Moses.

God revealed Himself as the merciful God, patient, loving and willing to forgive people but not to forget the sins.
