Forgiveness – Day 21

John wanted to warn the church that there are false teachers who twisted the Gospel to suit their own agendas. John warned the church against them and taught them the truth.

5Nalu ke udaba endaluva ngoNyana kaThixo, nendinixelela lona: UThixo ukukukhanya; abukho konke kuye ubumnyama. 6Xa ke sithi sinobudlelane noThixo, kodwa sibe sihleli ebumnyameni, sithetha ubuxoki, nezenzo zethu azingqinelani nenyaniso. 7Kodwa ke ukuba sihleli ekukhanyeni njengaye uThixo, siba nobudlelane. Ke lona igazi likaYesu uNyana wakhe lisihlambulula kuso sonke isono.

8Xa sithi asinasono siyazikhohlisa, asinanyani mpela. 9Kodwa ke, ukuba siyazivuma izono zethu, uThixo uthembekile, ulilungisa; wosixolela izono zethu, asihlambulule kuko konke ukungalungisi. 10Kanti xa sithi asizange sone, simenza ixoki uThixo, yaye nelizwi lakhe alikho kuthi.

UKrestu ummeli wethu

1Ndinibhalela nje, bantwana bam, ndifuna niyeke ukona. Kambe ke xa kukho umntu othe wona ukhona ummeli wethu kuBawo, nditsho uYesu Krestu olilungisa. 2Ewe, kaloku nguye idini elicamagushela izono zethu. Phofu akacamagusheli ezethu kuphela, koko ucamagushela ezehlabathi liphela.

Walk in the light!

One of the false teachings is that believers have no sin in them (8) and have not sinned (10).  This is a deception and a rejection of the truth, even implying that God lies.  John stated the opposite in verse 9, the truth.  Confess sins because we sin and have sinned.  The result of this confession – God’s faithfulness affirms that we have received forgiveness for the confessed sins and those sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus.
