Thandazani nizingisile

7“Celani nophiwa, funani nofumana, nkqonkqozani novulelwa; 8kuba wonke umntu ocelayo uyazúza, nalowo ufunayo uyafumana, nalowo unkqonkqozayo uyavulelwa. 9Ngubani na kuni onokuthi enonyana ocela isonka, asuke amnike ilitye; 10okanye athi, akucela intlanzi, asuke amnike inyoka? 11Ukuba ke ngoko nina, nikhohlakele nje, niyakwazi ukubapha abantwana benu izipho ezilungileyo, wobeka phi na ke yena uYihlo osezulwini ukugqithisa ukubapha okulungileyo abo bacelayo kuye?

UMATEWU 7:7-11XHO96Vula kumfundi weBhayibhile

A few years ago, at the radio station I am involved at, we decided to surprise a few families in need during Christmas with groceries.

One of the families we surprised was a single father with three children. After the mother left them for another man, he did his best to look after the children with his small salary as a security guard. The reality however was that he could not buy beds for his children. They had to sleep on the floor of their one-bedroom apartment on double-folded blankets.

We had to help.

Thanks to sponsors, we got beds, bedding and groceries. Just before we left to surprise the family, an organization that annually collects Christmas gifts for children brought some of it to the radio station so we could hand it out where we see fit. We decided to take three of these wrapped gifts for the single dad’s kids.

With the announcement of why we were there, tears flowed down the father’s cheeks. He was dumbfounded that God could send people to better their situation.

The biggest moment for me, however, was when the 6-year-old girl opened her gift and saw the doll inside. She pressed it tightly to her body while repeatedly saying: “Look, He did answer!”

What we did not know was that the girl had seen this particular doll on a television advertisement weeks prior. She begged her father and grandmother for it, but they could not afford it. Every night, thereafter she prayed that God would give her the doll. God did.

In Matthew 7:7-11 we read: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. . . If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

God knows our heart’s desire and He wants us to talk to Him about it. His time for a breakthrough and his way of doing it is always exactly right. God bless.

Prayer: Father God, thank You that You see everything in my life and that I can talk to You about it. Please help me with (name the challenge). I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen
