In Perth, Australia, the Mullaloo beach was recently closed after a 2,5 meter shark was spotted dangerously close to the beach. Footage taken from the air (see link below) shows an unsuspecting woman and child splashing around in the water while the shark literally swims past them.
This is how the enemy moves around us daily. Sometimes we are aware of his presence when fear and worry threaten to overwhelm us. It comes in the form of thoughts that we will not make it through the month with our money, that our loved one who is far from God will never come to salvation or that the doctors’ diagnosis will end in something worse. Sometimes we are not even aware of the enemy, but God is and he is protecting us.
Just like the videographer of the footage of the shark, God has a different perspective of our lives. In Job 34:21 we read: “For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.” (KJV) Because God sees everything, we can also trust Him with every challenge in our lives. In 1 Peter 5:7 we read: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (NIV) And in Philippians 4:6-7 it is written: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
May we remember that God is our Protector. He sees every step we take and he turns away the sharks – the ones we know about and also the ones we are not even aware of. God bless.
Prayer: Father God, thank you very much for protecting me. Please help me today (name your challenge). Fill me with peace. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen
