Jesus gave his life for you and the world. He did not keep his talents to Himself. Jesus played the principal part in service to the whole world right up to the end. If you learn to see who Jesus is, then the question arises: what did the Son of God come to do here on earth?
In the criminal thriller called “Earth”, the judge Himself comes to earth. The lawsuit begins. Jesus is not the judge who is far off and passes sentence from his palace of justice. He comes to personally investigate the scene of the crime. While speaking and preaching, He explains what is really going on. One after the other, the motives in the criminal thriller come to the foreground. With his words, he unmasks the greatest criminal, Satan. Jesus’ living words are razor-sharp and honest. The Gospels become the bulky dossiers of the criminal case. By reading these dossiers, it is clear who the guilty are: us.
But the unthinkable happens. The judge Himself is murdered.
You can think and say what you want about God, but you can never say that He engages in cheap talk. After humanity muddled along for centuries, Jesus appears on the scene. And with Jesus, it is never a matter of cheap talk. He put his words into action and decided to give his life to solve the deepest problem of man. Jesus is the One who took the decisive step. The nails in his hands and feet settled our salvation. His death opened a new era in the relationship between God and man.
