U-Isaya 40

Abantu bakaNkulunkulu bayaduduzwa

1Duduzani, nibaduduze abantu bami,

usho uNkulunkulu wenu.

2Qungani iJerusalema isibindi,

nimemeze kulo ukuthi ukulwa kwalo sekuphelile

nokuthi buhlanguliwe ububi balo,

ngokuba lamukeliswe esandleni sikaJehova ngokuphindiweyo

ngazo zonke izono zalo.

3Izwi liyamemeza lithi:

“Lungisani ehlane indlela kaJehova,

nihlelembe oqwathuleni umgwaqo

kaNkulunkulu wethu.

4Zonke izigodi ziyakuphakanyiswa,

zonke izintaba namagquma kuyakwehliswa;

amagebhugebhu ayakuhlelenjwa,

nemigoxigoxi iyakuba yithafa.

5Inkazimulo kaJehova iyakubonakaliswa,

yonke inyama ikubone kanyekanye,

ngokuba umlomo kaJehova ukhulumile.”

U-Isaya 40:1-5ZUL59NOVula kumfundi weBhayibheli

In the parched and dusty desert, Isaiah is given a message to tell the people to make straight their path.

They are asked to make a highway for God.

A highway! Anybody who has been in desert conditions knows that it is difficult to know where you are going because the sand keeps moving. God in this passage is comforting the people to build and make clear God’s path. We are called to pave the way and show our people God’s word that will help them to get through the shifting sands of life.
