Today’s verse encourages believers to persevere in doing good, reassuring them that their efforts will be rewarded “at the proper time”. This verse speaks to anyone who has ever felt tired or discouraged in their efforts to live out their faith and serve others. It is a reminder that our labour in the Lord is not in vain, and that God’s timing is perfect.

Doing good can sometimes feel like an uphill battle, especially when the results are not immediately visible. We may invest time, energy, and resources into helping others, sharing the gospel, or living out our faith, and yet see little to no return. In these moments, Paul’s words remind us that perseverance is key. God sees our efforts, and he promises a harvest if we do not give up.

This harvest may come in various forms: changed lives, spiritual growth, or even rewards in eternity. The important thing is to trust in God’s timing and continue sowing seeds of goodness, knowing that he will bring about the results according to his perfect plan. Our role is to remain faithful and steadfast, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it.

Don’t underestimate the power of small acts of kindness and faithfulness. Each good deed, no matter how small, contributes to God’s greater plan. When you feel weary, turn to God for strength and renewal. And encourage one another. Support and encourage fellow believers who are also striving to do good by sharing testimonies of God’s faithfulness.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the encouragement to persevere in doing good. Help us to remain faithful and steadfast, even when we feel weary or discouraged. Strengthen us with your Spirit and remind us that our efforts are not in vain. Teach us to trust in your perfect timing and to be patient as we await the harvest you have promised. May we continue to sow seeds of goodness and love, knowing that you will bring about the results in your time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
