₁₉We have, then, my brothers and sisters, complete freedom to go into the Most Holy Place by means of the death of Jesus. ₂₀He opened for us a new way, a living way, through the curtain — that is, through his own body. ₂₁We have a great priest in charge of the house of God. ₂₂So let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, with hearts that have been purified from a guilty conscience and with bodies washed with clean water. ₂₃Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. ₂₄Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. ₂₅Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.

₁₄Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God — Jesus, the Son of God. ₁₅Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin. ₁₆Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.

₇In his life on earth Jesus made his prayers and requests with loud cries and tears to God, who could save him from death. Because he was humble and devoted, God heard him. ₈But even though he was God's Son, he learnt through his sufferings to be obedient. ₉When he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him,
