Do you pray for protection over your relationships and loved ones daily? If not, you might have become an open target for the enemy.

In the 1940s, the world’s leading fighter aircraft was manufactured in America at the Lockheed Air Force Base just outside Los Angeles. It was a multi-million dollar enterprise with the leading technology of its time.

With the start of the Second World War, the U.S. army decided to use Lockheed as the launch pad for many of their operations. This made Lockheed a hot target for the enemy. When rumours of an attack by the Japanese army on Lockheed surfaced, the community around the base panicked. The U.S. army devised an interesting, creative solution. They camouflaged the base and the small community around it with brown nets. From the sky, it looked like an open field with farm houses. Even though the enemy flew over the area and clearly searched to find Lockheed, they could not. This plan saved thousands of innocent lives.

When we pray for protection over our relationships and our loved ones, God also places a camouflaged net over us and a wall of fire around us, in the spiritual realm, so that our enemy, Satan and his demons, cannot hurt or harm us.

In Job 1, we read that Satan went to God to ask for permission to test Job’s faith. In verse Job 1:10, he recognised that his attacks were ineffective due to God’s protection: “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.” Also in Zechariah 2:5, we read about God’s protection over Jerusalem: “And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,” declares the Lord, “and I will be its glory within.”

Do you live in fear for your own or your loved ones safety? Is there broken relationships in your life? Remember, God’s plan for us is to live a life of harmony and to enjoy healthy relationships. Let us, therefore, ask him to put a wall of fire around our lives and relationships. In addition, let us try to live lives that make it a pleasure for God to defend us from all sides. God bless!
